:: June 1994, Darryl Robinson visits a Houston Dillard’s on a shopping spree. He became angry when the assistant manager refused to let him get extra cash out on his debit card and yelled at the clerk. When Robinson continued to argue, security was called and according to some witnesses, he was taken into a back room and beaten. The Dillard’s security guards continued to tape his ankles together and hogtie him while other security guards joined in by jumping on him and a store manager contributed a couple kicks to his body. Thirty hours later Robinson died. San Antoinio Current, July 2000.

:: July 1995, Alton Anderson drove to a Tennessee mall and stayed in the car as his friends went to allegedly shoplift from a Dillard’s. Security guards chased Anderson’s friends into the parking lot and as Anderson tried to drive away a security officer fired two shots into the passenger side of the vehicle, one hitting Anderson in the leg, the other in his heart. Anderson immediately died, shot to death by Dillard’s security guards. Why did he have to die? San Antonio Current, July 2000.

:: April, 1996, Paula Hampton, a friend and four children visit a Dillard's store in Overland, Kansas where a Dillard's security guard put the group under surveillance. After making a purchase, Hampton received a coupon redeemable at the fragrance counter. Upon reaching the fragrance counter, Hampton was approached by the security guard. Referring to Hampton's friend, the security guard stated that, "The...bl
